The 3 year deadline for the Marina Bay Sands project gave the construction team a wide range of issues. After the year spent constructing the diaphragm walls, the 3 sloping 57 story hotel towers and 340 meter cantilevered sky park topping them much be erected in just 2 years if the project is be to completed on time. To ensure the project is completed on time, 16,500 workers are brought in to construct all 3 towers simultaneously. As well as this, engineers employ a process called in situ concrete casting. This involves the many thousands of concrete walls required being made on site, speeding up the construction process and relieving some of the many tucks coming on and off site causing huge congestion issues. The efficiency of the skilled floor laying team as well as the in situ concrete casting process means the small army of workers complete another floor every 4 days.
